There are many ways to help other people, but I think providing education is an “investment” which gives the best “yields”. I do not have a lot of money, but I hope I could do what I can to contribute to the society. Therefore, I thinking giving tutorials to the under-privileged children is not a bad choice. Today, I helped two poor children. One day, I hope the two poor children would lend a hand to another four people who need help. With that, two will become four, four will become eight, more and more people would then be benefited. This is what I dream for.

As a University student, I already have a few years’ experience on giving tutorials. This time, there is no money involved in the relationship between me and my student. Comparatively speaking, such a relationship is a lot more natural and meaningful. Although my student’s academic results are not as good as other children of the same age, the passion and the efforts demonstrated by my student are no less than the other children, if not more! If those poor children were being abandoned just because we have a rigid education system, then what a pity it is!

During the process of the tutorials, I realize that a lot of families in the society are really in need of help. Even though I am only spending one or two hours a week to help them, they are already feeling very grateful. The efforts of one person may be quite small, but the efforts of a team of people could bring significant improvements to many other people’s lives. Therefore, I sincerely hope that many more volunteer teachers would join us, so that our team of volunteers could continually provide more learning opportunities to the poor families.
